EdTech Payment Reporting Audit

Who this is for

Finance leads, founders, and operations managers at Malaysian EdTech companies who need confidence that learner payment activity matches what appears in monthly packs, investor updates, or statutory schedules.

Result you receive

A written audit pack that lists control gaps, reconciliation breaks, and recommended adjustments. Each finding cites the source file, the period affected, and a practical remediation step your team can own.

Scope included

  • Mapping of payment events inside the learning app (enrolment, renewal, refund, scholarship offset)
  • Comparison of gateway settlement files against enrolment and invoice records
  • Review of how refunds, chargebacks, and failed captures are treated in revenue reports
  • Assessment of report definitions used for board and management accounts
  • Closing workshop to walk through findings with finance and product owners

Scope excluded

  • Full statutory audit opinion under the Companies Act
  • Continuous monitoring software or hosted dashboards
  • Renegotiating gateway merchant rates
  • Bookkeeping or monthly accounting outsourcing

How delivery works

  1. Briefing — You share gateway names, sample settlement exports, current board report templates, and enrolment volumes.
  2. Fieldwork — We sample periods, rebuild key reconciliations, and interview the people who prepare payment reports.
  3. Findings — Draft findings are shared for factual review before the final pack is issued.
  4. Handover — A closing session clarifies owners, timelines, and which items belong in the next reporting cycle.

Preparation

Please reserve access to settlement CSVs (or PDFs), a sample month of enrolment exports, refund logs, and the last three management packs. We do not need production admin passwords; read-only exports are enough for most engagements.

Constraints

Work proceeds only after a signed engagement letter and confirmation of sample periods. Multi-entity groups with separate gateways per brand may require a phased schedule. Bahasa Malaysia interview support is available on request; written deliverables are issued in English unless agreed otherwise.

Fees

Fixed project fees typically begin at RM 12,800 for a single-product school with one primary gateway. Additional gateways, marketplace seller splits, or multi-entity consolidations are priced after the brief. See Fees for estimate factors.

Next step

Submit an audit brief with your learner volume, gateways, and the report you currently produce. We reply within two business days with a scoped proposal.
